The Newton Sixth FormSchool Background: The Newton Sixth Form was opened in 2019 and is located in central Bangkok, a few minutes walk from Siam BTS. The school is open for students in grades 2-7 in the primary section and grades 8-13 in the senior section, focusing primarily on an IGCSE, A-Level, and BTEC curriculum under Pearson. The current teaching team is a mix of international teachers and Thai teachers with native-like accuracy in English.
Details of the position:
Secondary English teacher:- It would be beneficial if the teacher has some experience either in delivering IELTS test prep classes and/or the IGCSE ESL and English A curriculum under Pearson. Ideally, we would be looking for this candidate to start in late December or early January. There may also be opportunities to teach humanities subjects depending on school expansion and applicant’s suitability.
*Teachers for other positions such as Mathematics, Business and Science subjects are also welcome to apply as the school is looking to expand these departments.
Qualifications and experience:
-Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or above in the relevant field and preferably a teaching qualification such as TEFL, CELTA or above.
-Candidates should have a minimum of one year’s experience delivering in-class teaching of their specialized subject with the relevant age group.
-An understanding of the Pearson IGCSE and IAL programs would be beneficial but not essential.
-Only applicants currently residing in Thailand will be considered.
Benefits:
-Working hours: 09.00-18:00 Monday-Friday. The occasional Saturday work may be required for open houses or school events.
-Salary: Starting salary of minimum 50k, based on qualifications and experience.
-Private health insurance is provided after passing probation.
-12-month contract renewable.
-Annual Bonus of 1 month's salary
-All visa and work permit costs are fully covered by the school.
