Role Overview:
The Literacy and Language Teaching assistant plays an important role in supporting the language and literacy development of our students. The Literacy and Language TA will help manage the Elementary Library and literacy resource room to ensure students and teachers have access to a wide array of books and learning resources. Through collaboration with multiple departments this position will also work with small groups and individual students to support their language and literacy development.
Job Description
Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
- Support the development of international-mindedness and all ISE learner attributes.
- Demonstrate open communication based on understanding and respect.
- Assist in communication with parents.
- Work as a team in all areas of Teaching and Learning.
- Support in maintaining records of student work and progress.
- Assist in administering assessments with the teacher.
- Catalog, organize, and maintain library materials
- Teach people who to use the library resources
- Help an and participate in special library events or events requiring the library space
- Substitute for homeroom teachers if needed
Administrative responsibilities
- Carry out supervision as required.
- Use and maintain computer library database
- Participate as required in the preparation for inspections, authorizations and accreditations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Fluent in English
- Thai National only
- Valid teaching certification(s)
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or similarly related field.
- Highly effective communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills with teachers and parents
- Demonstration of IT knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural environment
- Proven experience of working with children in an international school setting
