Early Years Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

The Early Years Teacher Assistant works collaboratively with the Early Years team to ensure the effective operation of the Junior School, particularly Early Years. The responsibilities include:
-Reporting to the Assistant Principals (Early Years) and being line-managed by the Year Team Leader with daily direction from the Class Teacher.
-Supporting the Class Teacher in providing stimulating and meaningful learning opportunities for children.
-Addressing students’ learning, social, and personal needs in collaboration with the Class Teacher.
-Working with other professionals to meet the needs of students.
-Participating in staff meetings, training, and development sessions.
-Performing other ad hoc duties as required by the school.

Tasks:
This role is class-based and involves:
-Supporting the school’s Philosophy and Objectives.
-Actively participating in all class and year group activities.
-Working with individuals or groups on learning tasks.
-Observing and interacting with children during Active Learning sessions and documenting their progress.
-Assisting in the assessment of students and contributing to provisions aligned with children’s interests.
-Preparing materials and resources for indoor and outdoor learning activities.
-Assisting in creating and maintaining a well-ordered and efficient learning environment.
-Taking an active role in classroom administration.
-Contributing to “Home Communication” with families as needed.
-Participating in training and professional development opportunities.
-Taking on lunchtime and after-school duties as assigned on the duty roster.
-Engaging in “You-Time” activities.
-Following the Early Years positive behavior management strategies.
-Providing individual support for students where needed.

Professional Expectations:
-The Early Years Teacher Assistant should demonstrate the following qualities:
Experience working with children aged 3-5 years or in an Early Years setting.
-Understanding of age-related expectations for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
-A willingness to support learning through play and the ability to identify learning opportunities during children’s play.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Understanding of teaching and learning strategies in early childhood education.
-A professional demeanor, serving as a positive role model for students.
-Conscientiousness, efficiency, and excellent organizational skills.
-A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
-A drive for continuous improvement, with active participation in professional development.
-Dedication to creating a high-quality learning environment.
-Respect for the confidentiality of student and school information.

Requirements:
-Thai Police Criminal Record check.
-Confirmation of identity and verification of qualifications and work experience.
-Satisfactory professional references.
