Part-time Literacy / EFL Teachers

I Can Read is a large multi-national learning organisation operating for over 20 years. We specialise in the teaching of English literacy skills as well as general EFL content. We have over 20 centres currently in Thailand with plans for future expansion. Successful applicants will be required to teach phonological skills and reading, writing, speaking and listening skills using the specially-developed I Can Read System to classes of no more than 10 students. Training and all lesson plans and materials are provided. Students are typically between 3-12 years old so applicants must be comfortable with teaching these age groups.

We are looking for native speakers from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland and South Africa with the following:

• A completed bachelor's or higher degree.
• A TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate (120 hours minimum).
• Clear speech with a universally understandable accent. (This is essential for the teaching of phonology.)
• Experience teaching or working with children.

Position and Contract Details:

Part-time: Weekends (Sat/Sun), typically one day only. Hours fall within 9:00 - 18:00 and depending on the schedule could contain 4-7 hours of classes. Weekday cover work is sometimes available depending on the availability of the teacher (Classes are scheduled from 15:30 - 19:00).

• 24-month contract.
• THB 600 per hour (paid monthly) but may be decreased or increased depending on nationality, experience and qualifications.
• THB 100 per class incentive bonus (paid upon contract completion).
• Training bonus.

Please note: Tax deductions are applicable to all remuneration shown. Further information on this will be provided during interviews.

Part-Time:
• Bangkok Metropolitan Area - Central Ladprao (Saturday) / Central Westgate (Saturday) / EmQuartier (Saturday) / Future Park Rangsit (Saturday or Sunday) / Mega Bangna (Saturday or Sunday) / Seacon Bangkae (Saturday) / The Walk Kaset-Nawamin (Saturday or Sunday)

• Other Provinces - Sriracha (Saturday)

Additional locations in the BMA and other provinces where we have centres may also become available as necessary so applicants interested in any locations in Thailand outside of those mentioned are encouraged to apply as well. Please check our website or search on Google Maps for a full list.

Before commencement of a position, applicants must complete our training programme in Bangkok. Unless specified, roles are usually required to start ASAP or within one month following its completion.

• All educational documents listed are essential for obtaining a visa and work permit with our company. They must be original hard copies from recognised and accredited tertiary institutions. Scanned copies and digital certificates are not eligible for processing in Thailand by the Immigration Bureau and other ministries.
• Degrees must be legalised for use in Thailand via a process involving the Thai embassy or consulate in the country where the qualification was obtained or in some cases through the country’s embassy or consulate in Thailand.
