Job SummaryWindfield International School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Global Perspectives
Teacher to join our British Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for
delivering the Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives (0457) curriculum, fostering critical
thinking, research, collaboration, and global awareness among students. The teacher will
engage learners in interdisciplinary discussions about pressing world issues, guiding
them to evaluate different perspectives and develop evidence-based arguments.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
● Deliver engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Global
Perspectives (0457) syllabus.
● Foster students’ ability to research, analyze, and evaluate global issues from
multiple perspectives.
● Guide students in completing three core components of the curriculum:
○ Written Exam (Component 1) – Teaching analytical skills using global
sources.
○ Individual Report (Component 2) – Assisting students in independent
research on a global issue.
○ Team Project (Component 3) – Facilitating collaboration, critical thinking,
and action-based learning.
● Encourage students to explore real-world challenges such as climate change,
human rights, political power, and digital transformation.
● Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including case studies, debates, and
project-based learning.
● Integrate sustainability and global citizenship themes into lessons.
Assessment and Progress Tracking
● Assess students’ research, reflection, and argumentation skills in alignment with
Cambridge assessment objectives.
● Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their coursework and
examinations.
● Guide students in preparing for external assessments and develop critical thinking
strategies.
Classroom Management and Student Engagement
● Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages open
discussion.
● Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ESL
students.
● Encourage independent inquiry, teamwork, and presentation skills.
● Maintain high expectations for students' academic performance and behavior.
Collaboration and Professional Development
● Work collaboratively with colleagues in the British Section and across disciplines
to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
● Participate in school-wide events, curriculum planning meetings, and
professional development sessions.
● Engage with parents, guardians, and the wider school community to support
student progress.
● Stay updated with Cambridge International best practices and attend
subject-specific training when required.
Qualifications and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Global Studies, Social Sciences, or
a related field.
● Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent international certification
preferred).
● Minimum two years of experience teaching Global Perspectives or related
subjects (e.g., Humanities, Social Studies, Citizenship Education).
● Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
● Experience in project-based learning and student-led inquiry.
● Ability to use digital tools and online resources effectively in the classroom.
● Commitment to student-centered learning and interdisciplinary teaching.
Preferred Skills
● Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE or A-Level Global Perspectives.
● Familiarity with international education standards and multicultural teaching
environments.
● Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
● Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities.
● Passion for global issues, sustainability, and ethical debate.
