Job Summary
Windfield International School is seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary Science and
Mathematics Teacher to join our British Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for
delivering Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) and Combined Science (0653) to students in Key Stage
3 and Key Stage 4 (Years 7–11). The role requires a dynamic and innovative educator who can engage
students in rigorous, inquiry-based learning while fostering a love for Science and Mathematics.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
● Deliver engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580)
and Combined Science (0653) curricula.
● Develop students’ understanding of Mathematical concepts, including number, algebra,
geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and probability.
● Teach core Science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) through inquiry-based and
practical approaches.
● Utilize real-world applications to make Mathematics and Science relevant and engaging for
students.
● Integrate STEM methodologies into teaching strategies.
● Encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and apply knowledge in unfamiliar
contexts.
● Provide individualized support to students with different learning needs, including
second-language learners.
● Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages scientific inquiry and mathematical
reasoning.
Assessment and Student Progress
● Plan, prepare, and administer formative and summative assessments in line with Cambridge
IGCSE examination standards.

● Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, ensuring they understand their strengths
and areas for improvement.
● Support students in exam preparation and guide them in developing effective revision and
problem-solving strategies.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
Classroom and Laboratory Management
● Create a safe and engaging learning environment for Science practicals and Mathematics
problem-solving activities.
● Ensure laboratory safety protocols are strictly followed when conducting experiments and
investigations.
● Promote collaborative learning through group projects, discussions, and hands-on activities.
Collaboration and Professional Development
● Work closely with colleagues in the British Section to align teaching strategies and curriculum
goals.
● Participate in staff meetings, school events, and parent-teacher conferences.
● Engage in professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest educational
trends in STEM and Cambridge curricula.
● Contribute to extracurricular STEM activities, such as science fairs, robotics clubs, or math
competitions.
Qualifications and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field.
● Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent international certification preferred).
● Minimum two years of teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics and Science.
● Strong mathematical reasoning and scientific research skills.
● Experience in experiment-based Science teaching and problem-solving in Mathematics.
● Proficiency in differentiated instruction for diverse learning abilities.
● Familiarity with Cambridge International examinations and assessment methodologies.
● Ability to integrate technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards, digital simulations, online
platforms) into teaching.
Preferred Skills
● Experience in teaching both Core and Extended Mathematics and Science content.
● Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
● Passion for STEM education and hands-on learning approaches.
● Ability to mentor and support students in academic and career development.
