Part-time Literacy / EFL Teachers

I Can Read is a large multi-national learning organisation operating for over 20 years. We specialise in the teaching of English literacy skills but also cover general EFL content. We have over 20 centres currently in Thailand with plans for future expansion. Successful applicants will be required to teach phonological skills and reading, writing, speaking and listening skills using the specially-developed I Can Read System to classes of up to 10 students. Training and all lesson plans and materials are provided. Students are typically between 3-12 years old so applicants must be comfortable with teaching these age groups.

We are looking for native speakers from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland and South Africa with the following:

• A completed bachelor's or higher degree
• A TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate (120 hours minimum)
• Clear speech with a universally understandable accent (This is essential for teaching phonology well.)
• Experience teaching or working with children

Position and Contract Details:

Part-time: Weekends (9:00-18:00) – minimum of 4 teaching hours within that period. Weekday cover work is sometimes available depending on the availability of the teacher (15:30-19:00).

• 24-month contract
• THB 600 per hour (paid monthly) (The offered amount may be decreased or increased depending on location, experience and qualifications.)
• THB 100 per class incentive bonus (paid upon contract completion)
• Training bonus

We are currently seeking part-time teachers for these locations:

• Bangkok Metropolitan Region: Seacon Bangkae (Saturday) / The Walk Kaset-Nawamin (Saturday or Sunday)
• Part-time Relief Teacher (Must be able to travel on short notice around Bangkok, etc.)

Before commencement of a position, applicants must complete our 5-day training programme in Bangkok. Unless specified, roles are usually required to start ASAP or within one month following its completion.

*Additional Notes:
• All educational documents listed are essential for obtaining a visa and work permit with our company. They must be original hard copies from recognised and accredited institutions. Scanned copies and digital certificates are not accepted by the relevant authorities in Thailand.
• Degrees must be legalised for use in Thailand via a process involving the Thai embassy or consulate in the country where the qualification was obtained or in some cases through the country’s embassy or consulate in Thailand. Applicants are responsible for checking the requirements specific to their circumstances and completing the processes prior to commencing work but our staff can provide advice and support as necessary.
• South African nationals must have an ETS TOIEC Listening and Reading certificate obtained within the last 2 years.
