School Context
Regent’s International School, Bangkok is a well-established international school for day and boarding students. The school delivers a locally adapted English curriculum to students, including the IGCSE qualifications at the end of Year 11. At sixth form, the school offers the IB Diploma Programme and is being authorised to offer the IB Career-Related Pathway.
Students at Regent’s come from Thailand and across the region. The school is a privately owned school and all families (except those on scholarships) pay fees for the school’s services.

The school is a member of Round Square, the Federation of British International Schools In Asia (FOBISIA), the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the Thailand International Schools Athletic Committee (TISAC).

Regent’s is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and ONESQA.

Main Working Relationships

Position Specific Responsibilities
Covering Academic Lessons
● Provide high-quality teaching to students in the absence of primary teachers from Years 1 through to 6
● Implement pre-planned lessons and adapt content to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
● Maintain a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and fosters student curiosity.
● Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Supporting Pastoral Care
● Support the pastoral needs of students, ensuring their well-being and emotional development.
● Assist with the delivery of pastoral programs and provide guidance to students as needed.
● Foster strong relationships with students, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
Collaboration with Classroom Teachers & Phase Leaders, as appropriate
● Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure smooth transitions during their absence.
● Provide feedback on student progress, behaviour, and any issues that may arise during cover periods.
● Support in the implementation of school-wide initiatives and help maintain the school’s high standards of academic achievement and pastoral care.
Promoting the School Ethos
● Embed the Regent’s ethos of kindness, resilience, and emotional intelligence within the classroom.
● Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, developing a sense of empowerment.
● Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom culture that aligns with the school's values.
Professional Development
● Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to improve teaching practice and understanding of school policies.
● Stay updated on the latest educational strategies and pedagogies to ensure best practice in the classroom.

Qualifications and Requirements
● A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. HLTA or equivalent).
● Experience working in primary education, particularly in an international context.
● Understanding of both academic and pastoral approaches to education.
● Good classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to various teaching situations.
● Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and leadership teams.
● A passion for helping students develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
● Police Check: a clean criminal background check is required.
● Commitment to Professional Development: dedication to continuous learning and professional development, with a focus on keeping up with the latest educational best practices, especially in international primary education contexts.
