Communicating with new music artists

Why not start a conversation with an artist today? It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

The passion for music and a desire to improve English among Thai people offer a unique opportunity for both educators and learners.

Here's a valuable tip: Engage with emerging artists on social media platforms like TikTok by leaving comments on their posts. There’s a good chance they will respond, whether with a simple thank you, a heart emoji, or even a detailed reply to your queries. This isn’t just interaction, it's genuine communication.

Why is this approach effective?

Emerging artists, especially those with smaller listener bases, are in dire need of your support. They need people to listen to their music and to engage with it actively. Comments and replies not only boost their visibility but also help foster a community around their work. They truly value each comment and appreciate the recognition of their efforts. Why not be part of their artistic journey?

Getting started

If you're wondering where to begin, visit the “New Artist Discovery” page on my website. There, you’ll find the Bootstrap Gold playlist on Spotify, which features high-quality tracks that, despite their brilliance, have often been played only a few thousand times. Engaging with these artists is mutually beneficial: they gain the listenership they need, and you get to interact directly with them through social media comments. Just remember to keep your remarks relevant to their music or their artistry.

You’ll also find TikTok videos highlighting some of these artists, particularly those who are likely to respond to comments. I monitor these interactions closely; artists who engage with their audience are featured prominently, while those who don’t, unfortunately, are not.

How to participate

Consider the artist Benjamin Brett as an example. He has a beautiful voice and heartfelt songs, yet he remains largely undiscovered. When I reached out to him through a comment on one of his TikTok videos, he promptly responded. Why not try it yourself? Listen to his tracks on streaming platforms like Spotify, then engage with his TikTok posts, or inquire about his creative process.

For instance, a simple comment like, “I love your song,” might earn you a thankful reply or a heart emoji. But asking, “How did you come up with this amazing song?” could lead to a fascinating story about the song’s creation. He might even create a video reply about it! If you feel confident, you can even post a speaking video comment to initiate a richer dialogue.

Why not start a conversation with an artist today? It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Give it a try and experience the magic of music and communication unfold!
