Frankly, Mr Shankly, I'm a sickening wreck

Thoughts on returning to England

We've been home 5 minutes (5 months) and are both working in schools. I'm firmly back in the hamster wheel as a year 6 teacher in a wonderful primary school and am working 60 hour weeks to cope with the demands of being an NQT. But wait....Thailand is beckoning once again!

The long way home

Thoughts on the annual trip back to see the family

This is the time of year when my thoughts turn to that place I called home for 26 years - good old England. Yes, it's almost time to make my annual trip back to Blighty.

How's life?

How can one answer such a simple question?

Friends and family always ask how life is for me and my family here in Bangkok. This question always makes me smile. Such a big question, written in a tiny two word sentence.

Crisps, pasties and roast dinners

What am I looking forward to most on my return home?

After a year in Thailand I am soon returning home to visit my family and friends. In a few weeks I will be hopping on a flight and making my way firstly to London Heathrow and then the more difficult part of the journey - juggling the tube, trains and buses to make my way to lovely, lovely Cornwall.
