I was warned about this

Postbox letter from Bangkok

When I started my second year here, all my friends and family told me I should just go home and that English teaching isn't really a career. I was having too much fun to take any notice of this unsolicited advice.

Making hay while the exchange rate shines

For those heading back to the UK or sending money home, it's all hail the mighty Baht!

I can’t wait to get back to England in two weeks time where I’ll have roughly 25% more in my pocket than when I traveled back in 2014. It really is a fantastic time to get paid in baht.

Amazing Thailand

Postbox letter from Russell

Those of us that have been here some years all know how this country has changed in the past 5 years. And most of us with balls would say it’s not for the best.

Crisps, pasties and roast dinners

What am I looking forward to most on my return home?

After a year in Thailand I am soon returning home to visit my family and friends. In a few weeks I will be hopping on a flight and making my way firstly to London Heathrow and then the more difficult part of the journey - juggling the tube, trains and buses to make my way to lovely, lovely Cornwall.
